Puako is one of the best locations on the island.  Located in the middle of the spectacular Kohala Coast, which gets some of the best weather on the planet. it's not rainy like Hilo, nor chilly like Waimea, nor "voggy" like Kona, which often gets "volcanic smog" from Kilauea volcano. 

Puako is one of the best kept secrets on the island, uncrowded, idyllic, and unspoiled.  Yet it's only 10 minutes from Waikoloa, with a wide selection of shops and restaurants, and only a mile from Hapuna Beach State Park and the Mauna Kea Resort.  

Puako Beach and it's postcard sunsets are just across the road.  
You can watch the sun set over Mount Haleakala across the water while the moon rises over Mauna Kea.  It's truly a unique location.
